Every year we have an opportunity to bring joy, love, and comfort to the sick children who are hospitalized during the holiday season. No matter which holiday they’re celebrating, being in a hospital is much less friendly and welcoming environment than being at home with your family. Some children may quip that their hospital doesn’t have a chimney, so how is Santa coming this year?
Children’s Blankets of Love aims to help these children have a momentary reprieve from their hospitalization by gifting our blankets. This year we partnered with the Knights of Columbus at St. Bernadette, who have been instrumental in organizing blanket drives within their church congregation. Church communities resonate with our mission and each year we receive a huge outpouring of support. God bless!
The Knights ran their blanket drive for three weekends to collect new, fresh blankets for the children. In total, their efforts raised over 350 new blankets! CBOL is grateful for St. Bernadette Catholic Church and the support of the Knights of Columbus. Our blankets truly brighten the days of the children who are fortunate to receive one.
Before Thanksgiving, the Knights made special deliveries to the hospitals in the triangle region. We couldn’t be more thankful for their help and kindness.

If you would like to volunteer and start your own blanket drive, we are here to support you! Although we donate blankets year round, we know that our donations during the holidays especially make the children feel cared for and loved. Contact us if you would like to get started. We all have the power to make an impact on our local community!
