Children’s Blankets of Love was honored to receive an incredible donation from the Raleigh Raptors U13 Hockey Club, who recently hosted a blanket drive in support of hospitalized children. Thanks to the generosity of the team, their families, and supporters, the drive resulted in 40+ blankets that will bring warmth and comfort to children in local hospitals.

CBOL founders Barbara and Vic Marchioni had the opportunity to meet with the team and personally accept the donated blankets. During the visit, Barbara spoke with the players about the mission of Children’s Blankets of Love and the importance of paying it forward—a message that resonated strongly with these young athletes.

The blanket drive was led by Coach Matt Cross, Vice President of Operations at Prime Time Hockey and Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Raleigh Testicular Cancer Foundation. Matt has been a passionate supporter of Children’s Blankets of Love since the very beginning and continues to champion our mission within the community. His dedication to service has been recognized by local media, including WRAL, and his leadership was evident throughout this meaningful initiative.

We are incredibly grateful to Coach Matt Cross and the Raleigh Raptors U13 Elite Hockey Team for their compassion, teamwork, and commitment to helping children in need. Their efforts are a powerful reminder that community support—no matter the size—can make a lasting impact.
