At Children’s Blankets of Love, we are continually inspired by the creativity and generosity of the young people who support our mission. This year, a group of dedicated neighborhood entrepreneurs known as The Cutie Pies once again turned their baking talents into an act of kindness for hospitalized children.

The girls spent time preparing for their annual bake sale by baking a delicious assortment of homemade treats completely from scratch. They also created colorful banners and posters to help spread the word throughout the Upchurch Place neighborhood and build excitement for the event.

Early on the morning of the fundraiser, The Cutie Pies set up their stand and greeted neighbors as they headed off to work for the day. Residents stopped by to purchase freshly baked goodies while supporting an important cause close to the girls’ hearts.

Their hard work, enthusiasm, and community spirit paid off in a big way. The bake sale raised more than $150, and thanks to a generous 100% matching donation from an anonymous donor, the impact of their efforts doubled. Every dollar raised will help Children’s Blankets of Love continue providing new, comforting blankets to children facing hospital stays throughout North Carolina and beyond.

Fundraisers like this remind us that making a difference does not require a large organization or a major event. Sometimes, a few determined children, some homemade baked goods, and a caring community can create a tremendous impact for children in need.

We are incredibly grateful to The Cutie Pies, their families, the residents of Upchurch Place, and the anonymous donor who helped make this event such a success.
